I was attending the Denver National Stock show walking through the equine stalls when I spotted these two getting to know one another. The tall, eloquent, white jumper was in the process of being tacked. As the owner was distracted in conversation he leaned over the adjoining stall and said hello the dark stocky cow horse. I was mesmerized by the juxtaposition of two cultures represented by the horses. Too bad we can’t all get along this well.

This painting won the People’s Choice Award and the Louisville Art Association National Art Show in 2023.
