Summer at Chautauqua below the Flatirons in Boulder Colorado. This was done on location as part of the Open Studios Plein Air Festival. Painting outside with the clouds rolling by, a risk of rain, the elements, and transitory feeling of nature lend themselves to the loose quick expression I try to achieve in my location paintings.
