I was wandering around the Denver Stock Show when I saw several draft teams being prepared for a show. I loved the pairs of horses who were used to working as teams. When I was painting this I was remembering the tossing motion of the heads and the clanking of the tack. I wanted to instill that motion and clanking feel with rough edges...especially for the horse in the background.
